Russia orders more Kalmar straddle carriers

25.03.2011 – Cargotec has received an order from National Container Company (NCC), the leading container terminal operator in Russia, for five 7+ generation Kalmar CSC340 straddle carriers, to be deployed at First Container Terminal (FCT) in St. Petersburg.

The new CSC340 units on order will be capable of stacking containers one-over-two with loads of up to 40 tonnes. Kalmar 7+ generation straddle carriers feature a modular design that is also well-equipped to handle the harsh winter conditions of the St. Petersburg area.

NCC cites its good experience operating with Kalmar straddle carriers as the main reason for choosing Cargotec as its supplier. The machines’ reliable performance and ease of service has helped the customer stay productive while container traffic continues to increase at Russia’s largest container terminal.

Delivery of the units will take place in the second quarter of 2011.
