Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) returns to Steigenberger Airport Hotel, Amsterdam for its 2019 Annual General Meeting

 

Amsterdam – February 25, 2019.

PEMA hosted its 2019 Annual General Meeting in Amsterdam, Steigenberger Airport Hotel. This year’s event was kindly sponsored by FIMER Spa. More than 130 delegates from 110-member companies attended the event last week (19-21 February).

The event saw more than 130 delegates from 110 companies spanning across multiple continents come together for the Association’s Annual General Meeting. As tradition, the AGM was hosted on European soil – this year returning to Amsterdam and the Steigenberger hotel. The 3-day event had a busy programme comprising of a networking reception, a general election, two discussion panels, and working committee meetings.

Furthermore, the general assembly unanimously re-elected Mr Ottonel Popesco (Director FIMER SpA) as Board member and after nominated President & Chairman of the Board of PEMA, elected Mr Huang Qingfeng (President of ZPMC Group) as new Board Member and welcomed 4 new members companies into the association.

Two speakers’ panel facilitated an open discussion between members and invited speakers to touch upon the stakeholder views and challenges for the port industry as well as operator testimonies and supply chain challenges.

Speakers line-up:

  3. Professor Mikael Lind – Research Institutes of Sweden, RISE Viktoria, Research
  4. Jan Cuppens – Director Global Engineering, Global Operations & Engineering, DP World
  5. Alexandru Duca – Director, Head of Automation, APM Terminals
  6. Boris Wenzel – Managing Director, Terminal Link

Four new member companies were unanimously accepted into the Association following a voting procedure. As of 20thFebruary the following 4 companies are officially members of PEMA, adding up to a total of 110 members:

  • Klaus Faber AG
  • Marine Fields Holding LTD
  • SENSY S.A.
  • TEUFELBERGER Seil ges.m.b.h.

We welcome our new members into the association and look forward to a fruitful and dynamic relationship.

As expected, the meeting delivered plenty of opportunities for Members to exchange ideas with the terminal operators and speakers to better understand the industry challenges. With a rich industrial history and an intrinsic connection to the global port community, it was with great pleasure that we welcomed our members to Amsterdam.
