RIC originated as RCI (Rainbow-Cargotec Industries Co.,Ltd) , a subsidiary established in 2012 through a joint venture with Cargotec in China, dedicated to R&D, design, manufacturing and delivery for Kalmar’s heavy crane business. In 2022, GENMA acquired the intellectual property rights for Kalmar’s heavy port crane products. Following this acquisition, all cranes supplied globally adopted the GENMA-KALMAR co-brand; Until September 1, 2025, all products will transition to the exclusive use of the GENMA brand worldwide.
