Cargo Technology Expo to launch in Antwerp, April 2027

A new event experience focused on high-level networking and insight-driven content for the global cargo community

Antwerp, Belgium — 22nd June 2026 — A new flagship event for the global cargo, logistics, and port technology sectors will debut in April 2027 with the launch of Cargo Technology Expo, a next-generation exhibition and summit designed to redefine how industry leaders connect, learn, and collaborate.

Supported by leading industry associations PEMA (Port Equipment Manufacturers Association) and FEPORT (Federation of European Private Port Companies and Terminals) as official Knowledge Partners, Cargo Technology Expo will bring together senior executives, innovators, and decision-makers from across the cargo handling, port operations, logistics, and supply chain technology landscape.

At the heart of the event is the Cargo Technology Summit, powered by WorldCargo News, which will serve as the intellectual engine of the entire Expo. The Summit will deliver two days of high-impact discussions, strategic insights, and future-focused debate led by global experts shaping the next decade of cargo and port innovation.

A Different Kind of Industry Event

Cargo Technology Expo has been created in response to a clear market need: an event that prioritises quality over scale, conversations over crowds, and meaningful connections over transactional interactions

Unlike traditional trade shows, Cargo Technology Expo is built around three core principles:

  1. High-Level Networking

The event is designed to foster genuine relationship-building among senior leaders, innovators, and decision-makers. Curated networking sessions, informal meeting spaces, and a relaxed atmosphere will encourage open dialogue and collaboration.

  1. Content-Led Experience

The Cargo Technology Summit will drive the entire event narrative. With WorldCargo News curating the programme, attendees can expect authoritative analysis, strategic debate, and forward-looking sessions on automation, digitalisation, sustainability, AI, electrification, port operations, and the evolving global cargo ecosystem.

  1. An Informal, Engaging Atmosphere

Cargo Technology Expo breaks away from the traditional exhibition format. The event will prioritise experience, accessibility, and interaction—creating an environment where attendees can genuinely engage with technology providers, peers, and thought leaders.

A Platform for Innovation and Industry Progress Cargo Technology Expo will showcase the latest advancements in:

  • Port and terminal equipment
  • Automation and robotics
  • Digital platforms and data solutions
  • AI, analytics, and optimisation tools
  • Electrification and energy transition technologies
  • Intermodal and logistics innovation
  • Safety, sustainability, and workforce technologies

With PEMA and FEPORT contributing their expertise as Knowledge Partners, the event will be grounded in the real operational challenges and strategic priorities facing ports, terminals, and logistics operators worldwide.

Arie van Dijk, Event Director for Cargo Technology Expo, said: “Cargo Technology Expo is being built from the ground up to offer something genuinely new. The industry told us it wanted an event where senior people can meet, talk, and learn in a more meaningful way. By putting the Summit at the centre of the experience, and by working with partners like PEMA, FEPORT, and WorldCargo News, we’re creating a platform that will help shape the future of cargo technology.”

Mr Pat O’Leary, Head of Technology for PEMA, said: “We are pleased to support Cargo Technology Expo as a Knowledge Partner. The industry needs a forum where technology, strategy, and collaboration come together—and this event has been launched to reflect the same core values as our organisation, i.e. to provide a platform to inform, educate and promote best practice.
