HTS and Dalosy Industrial Systems merge to form Certus Port Automation

Certus, the newly formed company, becomes the world’s leading port automation solution provider.

24.06.2013 – HTS and DIS (Dalosy Industrial Systems), respective market leaders in Optical Character Recognition (OCR), image processing  technology and systems integration and automation software, today announced the merger of their port automation solution businesses to form Certus Port Automation. The newly established company will now have the distinction of being the world’s leading provider of port automation solutions and will be providing the most comprehensive offering to the market, extending beyond automation and including security, IT and terminal process design.

For over five years the companies have partnered to provide many of the world’s busiest ports comprehensive automation solutions through their complementing expertise. Pioneers in the market, HTS deployed the first-ever commercial gate OCR, crane OCR and rail OCR systems over a decade ago.

HTS and DIS have jointly installed over 750 systems in over 50 terminals in 25 countries. The companies jointly have already deployed three full port technology implementations including yard and quay automation  – an integrated solution that is unique to the market and industry.

With the formation of Certus, those same services and solutions, including OCR Products, and the Global Control System (GCS) software suite will be completely integrated and aligned into a new seamless product and solutions suite, which a critical element in the deployment of complex technology-enabled solutions.

Beyond creating a single source for all port automation and security needs with the most comprehensive offering available to the market, the deep expertise that resides in both companies will enable Certus to better respond to the needs of their customers and the industry. “We are very excited to announce the formation of Certus. The new company will be establishing its headquarters near Rotterdam, Netherlands. “For over 5 years, our relationship with HTS has enabled both companies to grow and become leaders in our industry. By forming a unified company, we will be able to leverage the unique insight and expertise we’ve mutually acquired, allowing us to better serve the industry as a whole,“ said Leander de Nooijer, DIS Group General Manager.
