Baltkran to deliver container crane to Chelyabinsk terminal

10.11.2011 – Baltkran is to deliver a double girder container crane for an intermodal terminal in Chelyabinsk.  This new container crane, equipped with a telescopic slewing spreader, will handle about 50 thousand TEU per year.

Capacity under the spreader is 41 t and the lifting height is 2+1. Frequency inverter drive control assures smooth and safe movements as well as economic use of electric energy due to optimal under-load operation. This will help to reduce costs and to optimize station capacity.

A portal of the container crane is divided into modules that can be transported by conventional rail platforms and trucks. Optimal weight of the crane structure will allow for the use of less expensive assembly equipment and help reduce the time of the operation. The crane is equipped with a mechanism to allow for silent operation within city limits.

The delivery of the crane is scheduled for the third quarter of 2011.

“Baltkran had already delivered four container cranes, several dozens of gantry, overhead and portal cranes with different capacity for oil and gas, metallurgical, transport and other industries of the Southern Urals” said E.D. Kochetkova, Vice President of OAO, Baltkran.
