Lasstec

Based in France, LASSTEC has patented and developed a load sensing and accident prevention system using the spreader twistlocks to measure the weight and determine the load eccentricity of the container, even in twinlift mode.  The system improves operational safety and efficiency and reduces accidents in a multitude of container handling applications.

LASSTEC is the first technology to measure the load “where it really happens”, which is directly on the twistlock of the spreader.  The system can be installed into any existing and new spreader and for any application. A tiny hole is drilled into the centre line of the twistlock where a specially designed load sensor is inserted.  The sensor measures the elongation of the twistlock when under load.

LASSTEC registers the life cycles of the twistlocks so that they can be replaced when the lives are consumed and not when the date to replace them has come, thus making better use of the equipment. The load data can be displayed in the operator’s cabin and fed into the crane PLC, from where it is sent directly into the TOS system. LASSTEC is a “plug and play” system which requires no additional spreader or twistlock modifications.
