Founded in August 2010, the PEMA Technology Committee is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of the role that technology plays today and for the future. Formed of PEMA members and other experts in the manufacture and supply of advanced software, hardware and systems, the Technology Committee exists to:

  • Inform and educate the market on technology development, adoption and impact port and terminal operations
  • Promote innovation, thought leadership and best practices for the application of technology in the ports sector
  • Collect and publish neutral surveys on the adoption of key technologies worldwide
  • Participate in the development of industry guidelines and standards
  • Monitor and provide input to regulatory developments
  • Develop inter-association cooperation and information exchange
  • Support academic research and development
